Titanium Park helps fund major airport roundabout
McConnell Property’s Titanium Park has been the driving force behind Hamilton International Airport’s business zone, and to help manage future industrial growth in the area, we will be helping to improve existing transport routes.
Teaming up with the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA), Titanium Park will be helping to fund a new roundabout connecting State Highway 3 and State Highway 21, as well as contributing to a southward-facing road leading off the roundabout.
The new roundabout will run directly into Titanium Park’s Western Precinct development, which is located at the junction of State Highway 3 and State Highway 21, so the new roundabout will create excellent transport connections to neighbouring businesses around the airport area.
The new roundabout will also offer great exposure and profile for businesses in the area. Another major perk to the development is its close proximity to major businesses Air New Zealand, Bedford Engineering, BBC Technology, CTC Aviation Training, Super Air, Hamilton Aero Maintenance, Rotorcraft and Aeromotive Corporation that all operate right next door.
The roundabout is hoped to improve safety at the high risk intersection, which has seen 24 collisions over the past five years, according to stuff.co.nz. This risk is expected to increase as business growth in the area continues to develop, unless new roading layouts are introduced.
The $4.5 million roundabout was announced this week by NZTA. Construction will begin in December this year and is scheduled to be completed in mid-2016.
