It is with sadness that we farewell Rewi Thompson, a celebrated New Zealand architect who passed away at the age of 62 over the weekend. A member of the Auckland Urban Design Panel alongside McConnell Property's Nigel Richards, Rewi is remembered as a passionate individual who embodied his work as focussing on land and people. He is responsible for some of the most boldest buildings in New Zealand.
McConnell Property has entered the Christchurch property development sector with a land development project for the new Beaumont Park community, in rapidly growing Rolleston.
Check out a news article on the new development, featured in the Selwyn Times under the title ‘Housing boost for Rolleston’. Our South Island Development Manager Scott McCulloch will lead the development, and says Beaumont Park is the first project in a number of exciting opportunities on the horizon.
Our Senior Development Manager Aidan Donnelly recently spoke to NZ Construction News for a feature on McConnell Property’s successful industrial/logistics development - Titanium Park - in the Waikato:
"Titanium Park is one of those rare commercial and industrial developments that ticks more than a few of the requisite boxes for investors, occupiers, stakeholders and developers. Aidan Donnelly talks to NZCN about this growing airport-fringe hub."
McConnell Property’s General Manager Nigel Richards was recently featured in NZ Lawyer Magazine Online, offering some helpful tips for the legal sector on how lawyers and developers can work better together for enhanced outcomes:
Hamilton’s PwC Centre and Titanium Park Stage 1 have been recognised at the Property Council’s ‘We Are Waikato’ awards announced on Wednesday night.
McConnell Property took out the Urban Design and Architectural Merit category awards for its outstanding contribution towards the development of the two projects. The award acknowledges project teams who have contributed to a more inspiring, innovative and wealthier Waikato.
